Item Description
15/16" with front brass rim reading "For President 1864" and reverse reading "For Vice President 1864." There was a small brass loop on the upper edge now missing. Each ferrotype has the names above "A.Lincoln/A.Johnson" although on the Johnson side the first three letters are missing along with additional loss at the top of his head and numerous and very tiny pinpoint black marks. Only the surface layer of the emulsion is gone and the base layer remains. Vast majority of the portrait is clear. The Lincoln side has similar but much less age. There is a 1/16" dot of emulsion gone above his name plus a number of extremely tiny and near microscopic dots of emulsion gone from his portrait area although barely showing unless viewed with a glass. Overall VG.
