Auction #211 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1196 in auction 211
Item Description
First two are 6" tall and the third is 5". All three have a long vertical stickpin on the reverse and the third includes a large W&H paper label. First reads "Pennsylvania's Choice For President Hon. M. S. Quay 1896." Above the photo are three exceedingly faint .5" vertical fabric stresses that barely show. Along the photo on the left is a long fabric stress and on the right one about half its length but neither is a full separation. The only obvious damage is a 1/16" hole on the bottom right near the corner. Second item reads "Pennsylvania/Allentown April 29, 1896/For President Robt. E. Pattison." This had some hairline stresses around the real photo which is held to the ribbon by a pair of horizontal fabrics. These vertical stresses have been neatly repaired on the reverse using proper conservation techniques. Bottom of the ribbon is missing just a little of the fringe with a small repair to the left of the name "Robt." Photo has 1.5" hairline crease on the left but remains totally clean. Last item reads "State Of Maine Reed Club" with 1.75" celluloid picturing "Hon. Thomas B. Reed." Ribbon probably had some fringe below now gone. Small bit of gray tone near the top around the flag bow. Celluloid remains totally clean.
