Item Description
1.25" reads "In Memorium King Alexander I, The Martyr." Button has a white hairline across the bottom rim as made but the piece displays Mint as made. On October 9, 1934 while on a state visit to France a gunman stepped from the parade route and shot the King and the chauffeur. It was the first assassination captured on film as the shooting occurred in front of the cameraman who was only feet away. The exact moment of shooting was not captured on film but the events leading to the assassination and the immediate aftermath were. Only the second we've seen.
