Auction #211 - Part II
Item numbers 1197 through 2870 in auction 211
Item Description
13.5x21.5" artboard w/attached paper, onionskin and acetate overlays (top sheet is marked "Kit No. 1401 Tiger Tank") has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1970s Lindberg model kit No. 1401 featuring a German Tiger I tank, the common name of a German heavy tank developed in 1942 and used in World War II. During the course of the war, the Tiger I saw combat on all German battlefronts. It was usually deployed in independent tank battalions, which proved to be quite formidable. Art shows a Tiger marked "417" on turret w/Panzer commander and gunner standing up in open hatch. Art is unsigned. Large image area measures 13.5x20.75". Bottom margin has printed label and blue pencil notation that could be easily matted out. Art is NM and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
