Item Description
12-1/8x20" artboard has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1965 Lindberg model kit No. 433-39 featuring the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 single-seat, single-engine fighter aircraft widely used by the Luftwaffe in a wide variety of roles during World War II. The FW 190-D was intended to improve on the high-altitude performance of the A-series enough to make it useful against American heavy bombers. A total of 1,805 D-9s were produced, production starting in Aug., 1944. Art shows the ground crew-member and pilot running around warplane on ground, w/two others in flight above. Art is unsigned. Image area measures 9-3/8x17.5". Margins have printing labels and scattered staple holes that could be easily matted out. Art is NM and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
