1-5/8x2.25" Cuban card tobacco issue. Numbered C21-60, the baseball cards are part of a much larger set that also features boxers, actors and actresses, nudes and more. The baseball subset pictures mostly players from the 1923-1924 Cuban Professional League. Printed on glossy paper, the cards were meant to be glued into an album. Card front features head shot with text "Base Ball Oms C-51." Distinctive black border around the image. Card back has issuer/series information. Card is deemed "Authentic" due to some surface paper loss on the back only, front has trace of margin wear but is not trimmed. Image is bold and distinct with great eye appeal and visually presents itself as EX+. Highly sought after "Rookie" card of this Negro and Cuban League great. In our March 2012 auction we sold another "Authentic" example of this card for $1,265.
