Item Description
8.5x11" Aqua-oil painting on textured paper that has been mounted on a board. These smaller sized paintings were created by Mark Arminski to be more economical for the public, and smaller in size so as to fit anywhere. This painting was created c. 2011, and shows the classic wind-up sparking nun toy. Arminksi grew up going to Catholic and parochial schools, his experience being equatable to that of the visage of the sparking nun. Seeing the classic wind-up toy brought back memories, it's Catholic/religious symbolism combined w/a cool-looking toy struck a chord w/Arminski. While not in the strictest sense a sideshow-related pieces, Arminski considers this to be included among his series of paintings he created that feature sideshow performers and freaks. The paper Arminski painted this image upon had some typographic imagery upon it, and shows through. Arminski has signed his name at lower left. Exc. Wonderful image. From the Mark Arminski Archives and comes with a COA specially designed, signed and remarqued by him.
