Item Description
Pair of 18x24" high quality prints depicting the jets Air Force Captain Charles "Chuck" E. Yeager made aviation history in. First is titled "Into The Unknown" and is © Phantom Prints. Print depicts Yeager at the controls of his Bell X(S)-1, 46-062 jet, "Glamorous Glennis" (named for his wife) as he became the first to break the sound barrier on Oct. 14, 1947. Print has been hand-numbered "888/1,000" and has been signed in pencil by the artist Harley Copic as well as Yeager at bottom margin which also has print title/caption. Second print is "Yeager Goes Mach 2" and is ©1985 Aero Art America. Print depicts Yeager at the controls of his Bell X-1A jet as he achieved a then record speed of Mach 2.44 (1,650 MPH) on Dec. 12, 1953. Print has been hand-numbered "669/1,000" and has been signed in pencil by the artist Milo Michat and dated "4-10-88." Print has also been signed in pencil by Yeager at bottom margin which also has print title. Each comes w/COA from issuer, each w/image of print at top.
