Item Description
10.5x22.25" high quality silk-screened poster for May 24, 1997 memorial concert that took place at the Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, MI. Memorial services were held for Beat Generation poet Allen Ginsberg, followed by a concert featuring Patti Smith, Natalie Merchant, Anne Waldman and Lenny Kaye, followed by poetry readings. Poster features stylized photo image of Ginsberg at bottom, seated among flowers w/flames rising above and Chinese dragon border by Mark Arminski, whose distinctive signature appears at bottom in blue felt tip pen. Poster has also been signed by Patti Smith Group guitarist (from the group's inception) Lenny Kaye in black felt tip pen, adding great inscription that reads "For Mark: & Your Beautiful Art...May You Always Draw..." Kaye also produced and performed on Ginsberg's 1996 record "The Ballad Of Skeletons," a poem of his that was set to music. Exc. From the Mark Arminski Archives and comes with a COA specially designed, signed and remarqued by him.
