Item Description
3.25" tall painted cast metal Mickey Mouse figure w/thin metal sheet music in hand. c. 1932. "Mickey Mouse" name appears on right side of body in painted raised lettering and raised "© Walt Disney" text is on left. Underside of pants are marked "Germany" in black paint. From an exceptional series of Mickey and Minnie Mouse metal figures, some of which were designed as useful objects (like ashtrays). This stand-alone figure is version which holds sheet music. Mickey is depicted wearing lt. blue shorts w/yellow buttons. Figure has even aging, only really noticeable on white areas and some small scattered paint flakes, most prevalent to hands and around eyes. Interior of sheet music shows obvious wear to painted surface (though some small music notes are still visible), w/large areas flaked away. Much exterior paint remains. Complete w/wire tail. Fine overall. A great, high quality figure. All pieces in this series are scarce. First we've offered of this sheet music variety. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
