Item Description
3.5x4x4" tall painted cast metal depicting Mickey Mouse comfortably resting in an armchair. He sits w/his hands outstretched, legs crossed and his tail draped around the back of the chair. Raised text on body includes his name and Disney copyright. This is color variety w/lt. blue pants and yellow buttons. This figure was made in different color varieties, w/different pants/buttons color combinations. From an exceptional series of Mickey and Minnie Mouse metal figures, some of which were designed as useful objects such as ashtrays, playing card containers, banks, etc. c. 1932. Marked "Germany" on underside in black paint. Paint is evenly aged. Scattered paint flaking to edges of chair, Mickey's hands, ear edges and white areas of face. .25" spot off chest, but overall about 90-95% paint remains. Fine overall. All items in this series are scarce and this particular figure is among the most sought-after. From the Maurice Sendak Collection and comes with COA.
