Item Description
3x8.5". Top reads "Native American" with eagle holding scroll inscribed "Beware Of Foreign Influence." Center has standing figure of Washington to the right of the same illustration of a seaman as on the preceding ribbon, with "Republican" immediately above and "Association" immediately below. Bottom has framed oval floral bust of Liberty flanked by stands of flags and implements of war and industry and "Columbia/PA." The silk is loosely woven so that numerous vertical lines appear showing mostly on the white background areas. There are no actual splits, just a few horizontal threads missing along the bottom edge. Details and text remain clear. A rare ribbon from a small town on the east banks of the Susquehanna River and a mere 10 miles east of Hake's Americana's headquarters. Julie Powell Collection.
