Item Description
First is 5x6.75" celluloid. "Banquet To Celebrate The Anniversary Of The Birth Of General U.S. Grant/At Delmonico's" famous New York City restaurant. Arrangements Committee notables include: General W.T. Sherman (Chairman), General John C. Robinson, General W.H. Seward, Honorable Roscoe Conkling, Honorable Nicholas Fish among others. Text below oval portrait lists major accomplishments with dates in Grants life ending with "Let Us Have Peace." Was attached to something. Corner flake off right. Next is 5.5x7.25" tri-fold dinner menu held in honor of Grant's birthday 1895. Hosted by "U.S. Grant Post, No. 327 G.A.R./Heman P. Smith, Commander,/And Union League Club Of Brooklyn." Dust soil on front and back. Last is group of four souvenirs of the April 27 1897 dedication of the Grant Memorial in New York. First is 2" two-sided metal fob with lightly faded paper portrait image of Grant on front and monument on reverse with date. Next is 3" tall badge with high relief bust of Grant on front and memorial with date on back. A bit of tarnish. The last two are souvenirs of same event with date and memorial. Blank reverses. Both with professionally replaced pins.
