Item Description
5-1/8" tall painted plaster figure of saluting Hitler w/his pants down, his exposed rear end is coated w/black striker material. Base has incised "©1941" date but company name is illegible as made. Underside is slightly uneven as made and two corners have had clear plastic added for stability. Majority of black striker material is missing from striker area. Upraised hand has .25x.5" area chipped off and shirt cuff has .25" chip. VG/Fine. Scarce. Comes w/1.5x2" cardboard cover holding complete original set of 20 paper matches shaped like bombs. One side has "Strike At The Seat Of Trouble" slogan followed by "Buy War Bonds" text. Cover spine has "Match 'Em - Bond For Bomb" inscription. Back panel has cartoon art of Hitler w/tiny swastika armband clutching globe. His trousers have at piece of dark brown sandpaper for striking matches. Unused and VF.
