Auction #212 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 988 in auction 212
Item Description
Hake #3373 although this example was missing its original ribbon which has been replaced with vintage rwb fabric ribbon to join the lower suspension to the upper hanger. The piece is 5.5" tall featuring a figural California bear walking upon what seems to be a log with a pair of links below suspending the state name on a panel of blue enamel. On the suspension is a large high relief portrait of "Theodore Roosevelt." Lower right has 1/8" spot of gold luster missing with just a few scattered pinpoints but with about 97% remaining. Back of this piece has similar 3/16" spot of gold missing from bottom edge but remains largely intact and reads in full "California Delegation To The National Progressive Convention Chicago 1912." A very limited issue.
