Item Description
First is large 2.5" gold button with text as quoted in our title plus "Eisenhower/Nixon/Sept. 18, 1956/Whittier, Calif." Reverse has three small pieces of what appears to be 'band-aid' tape holding a 4" ribbon reading "Original Nixon Committee." Button has a couple of pinpoint raised dots as made but is Exc. and displays Mint. Next is the red 6.5" ribbon reading in full "Presidential Campaign Kick-Off/Eisenhower/Nixon/Sept. 18, 1956/Whittier, Calif./Campaign Committee." Tiniest loss of gold from the word "Committee." Both items were used in Nixon's home town. With these two rare pieces comes 2-1/8" "Dick In '60" button. To the right of the year is a 1/32" darker dot and to the far left on the edge is a pinpoint darker dot. Both appear to be under the celluloid as made. Curl names Los Angeles maker Achievement Badge & Trophy Co. First we've seen of any of these.
