Auction #212 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 988 in auction 212
Item Description
First is 7/8" tall fabric ribbon showing what seems to be a gushing oil well with text below for the Kansas W.C.T.U. group 28th convention in Iola in 1906. Three tiny 1/16" or less holes on the upper end with a few faint creases and tiniest age traces but overall still in Fine condition. Next is a card with blank back used to take the "Pledge" and issued by the "Abstinence Department Of The Anti-Saloon League." Includes 1908 copyright date and photos of both Lincoln and Lee. One very tiny stain mark on lower right edge. Next is badly foxed but rare button showing "The Apostle Of Temperance/Father Mathew." Reverse has rather heavy oxidation and front has obvious stain but a rare button from the early 1900s. That is 1.25" followed by .75" reading "The Liquor Traffic Must Go" enclosing letters "YCP." Tiny 1/8" fragment off bottom edge. Last is 1.25" interesting button although with several craze lines on close inspection and faint trace of age on the rim. The button has no maker but is either Canadian, English or Australian. Blue ribbon design reads "The Man Of 'To-Morrow' Depends Upon The Voter Of 'To-Day.'" Beneath the young boy's photo is "Vote Out Liquor/Vote In Manhood." Curl of the button has text reading "Fight The Drink Series 2/Copyright Regd." First we've seen and still displays well.
