Item Description
First is 2.25". This button is from the Marshall Levin collection with his hand inked notation on the reverse reading "Prototype 8/76-1." This button is one of 16 known designs that were produced during the 1976 campaign season between July and November 2nd. Many of the others are made with "Badge-A-Minit" reverses but this button is a standard button company produced "prototype" in advance of the actual button run and with a standard open back, collet and spring pin. Like most of the others in the series it carries the slogan "Nobody For President" along with the text "'76/Write In..." Unique and Mint. Second item is 1.5" with center text "Rock Against Racism" surrounded by text "Columbus Ohio O.S.U. Oval Sept. 30, 78 Yippie." Only example of this event button we have seen. Front surface is just a hair concave. Trivial small marks show only in reflected light. Displays Mint. The first button is from the Levin Collection and comes with Hake's COA. The second button is not from the Levin Collection. A rare pair.
