Item Description
First is 1.75" reading "Stop The War Against Black America/Workers World Party." This group split from the Socialist Workers Party in 1958. In the 1960s they sponsored the youth group Youth Against War & Fascism. They had a Marxist/Leninist philosophy and ran candidates for President from 1980 through 2004. This particular button is c.1979-1980. Second button with illustration of "Sojourner Truth" has Levin's inked date on reverse of 1979. Button carries the party name with the quotation "We Do As Much...We Want As Much." Paper shows light gray marks over much of the white background but this seems to be as made as the button was never exposed to moisture to produce this type of age. From the Marshall Levin Collection. Comes with Hake's COA.
