Item Description
1-5/16" tall charm designed as a watch chain attachment and with the ring at the top actually worn slightly thinner than the rest due to use. This piece tests for 10K gold and weighs 10.3 grams. The reverse has a stamped in jewelers mark along with the numbers "1-10." The enameled front center, beneath the initials of the organization shows a sunburst above an ocean while in the foreground a figure representing King Neptune holding a trident and riding in a chariot being pulled by a seahorse is depicted above a pair of clasped hands flanked by the date of the groups formation in 1892. The piece was probably produced very shortly after this federation of independent unions was formed in Chicago in 1892. Enameling has some microscopic wear but the piece displays essentially Mint except for the slight narrowing of the ring at the top. Rare and the first we've seen.
