Item Description
Lot of items featuring art by British comic book illustrator/painter whose best known work has been produced in the US. Windsor-Smith is best known for his work on Marvel Comics' "Conan The Barbarian" comic book title from 1970 to 1973. Offered here are items published by his Gorblimey Press publishing company. Included are 8-5/8x11.25" book titled "Shelf Stuff" which features a collection of his sketches and some finished pieces and comes w/signed letter. Letter is scarce. Also included are five 11x15" full color lithographs from a limited edition portfolio featuring Robert E. Howard characters, including Conan, which has been signed by the artist and hand-numbered "369/920." ©1975. Also includes Conan "The Four Ages" 8.25x13.25" print set of four that showcase the four stages of Conan's life - "The Barbarian, The Warrior, The Buccaneer" and "The King." ©1974. Scattered handling wear, Fine to Exc. overall. Nice lot w/great Conan content featuring the art of one of the artists most closely associated w/the character.
