Item Description
First item, although firmly mounted on thin cardboard, is a colorful 9.5" ribbon from 1902 featuring celluloid real photo of candidate Pennypacker. Top right fabric has narrow 1.5" hairline split but rest of the ribbon displays cleanly although the narrow fringe is mostly off the bottom edge. Next is age spotted but rarely seen 2-1/8" real photo portrait button which has large back paper reading "For Pennsylvania's Governor Judge S.W. Pennypacker." Couple of tiny surface paper dots off. Next is beautiful real photo button "For Governor Robt. E. Pattison." Also see Presidential hopeful items for him in lot #442. This button has one dark spot at right. Metal back with bar pin. Next is another striking photo sepia reading "For Governor John P. Elkin." Back paper by Baltimore Badge. Next is 2-1/16" paper in tin frame with lapel stud back and pair of accent ribbons. Reads "Philadelphia's Choice For U.S. Senator Hon. Boies Penrose." Scarce and Exc. Last is a rare large real photo lapel stud. Consists of domed celluloid over real photo jugate showing "Pennsylvania's U.S. Senators/Shoulder To Shoulder." Pictured are Quay and Penrose. A narrow tin rim surrounds and the piece has a large flat tin reverse with a .5" tin lapel stud at the center. Silver luster gone but otherwise totally clean. Rare. A very nice group of Pennsylvania items.
