18x25”. High quality silverplate. Center of tray has speedway logo with names “Joe/Mary” appearing above wings. 29 first names (no last names) appear around tray edge. All but 1 appear as a couple i.e. “Dolly & Hump, Fran & Cy, Peg & Bob, Ruth & Kermie,…” Joe and Mary were likely presented this tray upon their retirement. The “Safety Patrol” started in 1948 and served as the I.M.S. safety and security through the years. The patrol continues to serve. Commonly referred to as the “Yellow Shirts,” these men and women are part of a proud and traditional duty that is rewarding, exciting and many times envied. Tray is back-marked “Gorham/E-P/VY1038/1 25 In.” a well-made, high quality silverplate award. Impressive. Lt. wear. VF.
