Item Description
14.5x15-7/8" shrink wrapped archival mat has four openings. At upper right is 5.75x7.25" tempera and watercolor painting of Toonerville Trolley/Toonerville Folks creator Fontaine Fox at the drawing board and opening at lower left has 5.75x7.5" opening w/watercolor and tempera painting of Gasoline Alley creator Frank King. Both have large facsimile signature and each has been signed at bottom corner by artist Dunne. Each comes w/matching 3.5x6.5" Colorado Silk Cachet first day cover w/respective stamps of their characters as issued w/postmark for Oct. 1, 1995 Boca Raton, Fla., site of the Museum of Cartoon Art. Each envelope has cancellation mark "Comics Classic Collection First Day Of Issue" in word balloon at bottom of each stamp. Also comes w/pair of unused U.S. Postal Service postcards w/character art on front and respective stamps on back w/colorful silk cachet of artist at lower left. NM w/bright color, very well done. Covers were issued in a somewhat limited print run.
