Item Description
9.75x12-5/8” sheet has 9-3/8x10” India ink image area titled in ink “The Toonerville Trolley That Meets All The Trains 8-24”. Art has the Skipper telling man on trolley about boy they’re watching run off with his dog to get a letter from “The Girls Camp Where His Sweetie Has Went!” Upper right corner has small number “29”. Art is signed by artist-creator at lower right “F. Fox” w/additional ink inscription just below title “To Lloyd Hutchinson, With The Compliments of Fontaine Fox.” Blank bottom margin has Bell Syndicate paper sticker. Reverse side has preliminary original art in pencil and India ink w/two boys on see-saw w/one telling his mother he’ll be home in time and mention of Estelle at girl’s camp. Sheet has creasing w/dust soil and lt. wear around edges. Overall Good/VG. Well drawn example w/Skipper and Trolley. Art was specially done for fellow cartoonist Sam Lloyd Hutchinson, noted for creating Parky the Kangaroo.
