1.5" silvered brass premium designed as a figural baseball and given to 1930s contest entrants. Contest prizes were Babe Ruth fielder's glove, a baseball 'Personally Autographed', and a free trip to Ruth's spring training camp. These details were provided on a contest entry form given away by Esso dealers which was obtained by submitting to the dealer an adults name plus name and address of the proposed member. As with all examples the silvery luster has numerous tiny dots and missing lines of silvering but it still fully retains its gloss. This is an original with soldered horizontal bar pin on the reverse. There is a reproduction with a metal plate which holds the pin. Scarce.
