Item Description
11.5x12.25x23" tall. California Dispenser Co. ©1949 UFS. Mechanical steel candy machine w/long glass window at front and dime slot. Three sides have illustrations of Dogpatch characters including - Li'l Abner, Daisy Mae, Mammy Yokum, Pappy Yokum, Shmoo. Machine offered four choices - "Daisy Mae Raisins (California Seedless Raisins), Li'l Abner Goobers (Selected Spanish Peanuts), Mammy Yokum Chaws (Delicious Caramels)," and "Pappy Yokum Delight (????)." Appears to work, but no product included. Comes w/key. Illustrations are slightly darkened w/age, but remain strong w/tiny flake off one side corner but o/w no major scratches, blisters or chips to images. Moderate scattered wear to top painted area, and a few scattered paint nicks/scratches. Fine/VF. A fun piece to add to a comic character display.
