Item Description
Group begins with 1.25" button depicting six American warships pointing towards the sunken vessels in Manila Bay of the Spanish Navy with just eight masts extending above the ocean water. Among the scarcer in this series featuring illustrated scenes and cartoons which were made by W&H. Back paper also names Chicago jobber Robert Johns. Tiny raised bump at bottom left. Super clean and glossy. Next is white metal figural stickpin showing "Maine." Next is figural flag metal pin with the image on a paper label, tanned but not spotted. Next is stickpin with embossed brass figural bullet inscribed "Free Cuba." Remnants of flag ribbon remain. Next is die-cut litho tin with crossed flags "Free Cuba." Next is flag design used on the ship Olympia and with name on the flag "Dewey." Last is silvered brass token with top edge loop. One side shows soldier running with rifle and with a fallen comrade by his side and with the Island of Cuba in the background. Several phrases in Spanish along with date which equates to the U.S. backed invasion at the Bay Of Pigs with date April 17, 1961. Other side has Christian cross over-printed by Cuban flag and text "Crusade To Free Cuba/There Will Be No End But Victory." NM. First we've seen of this.
