Item Description
Ferdinand Horvath was a story sketch artist at Disney from 1934 to 1937 who brought a European style to Disney's animated projects. He worked on many Disney shorts and did preliminary work on "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs." Offered here are five sheets of animation paper, ranging in size from 6x9" to 9.5x12". Smallest sheet has additional cut-outs featuring Horvath's original designs featuring a king character from an unknown project. The other sheets feature three different kings, a stuffed gingham elephant, two imp-like characters, a droopy bloodhound, dwarves w/snow on their hats and a smiling wolf/fox. Sheets have a total of 13 images. The two sheets featuring the kings are dated 1938, just after Horvath left Disney. Each has been done in lead pencil w/full colored pencil coloring/accents to kings as well as the elephant. Scattered coloring to the rest, giving each character a nice appearance. Cut-outs have moderate aging from glue used to attach them to sheets, which have lt. handling wear/aging. Fine to VF overall. Wonderful expressive images by a legendary animator.
