Item Description
Pair of artboards w/original pen and ink, wash and white paint art for famous Detroit, MI. motorcycle repair and parts shop that specialized in Harley-Davidson motorcycles. First measures 14x19.25" and has hand-drawn text reading "Acquisition - Gizmos Specialty Machine - Mary Janes - HD Parts Bought & Sold - 538-2972 - 20301 Schoolcraft - 'Decades Behind The Rest' - Detroit." Second artboard has text reading "Mary Jane Ain't No Lady" w/large art image of Mary Jane candy mascot w/visible male genitalia showing through her underwear. A hog is seen at left on attached sheet, a clear reference to Mary Janes' specializing in Harley-Davidson "Hogs." Mary Jane has a Harley-Davidson logo tattoo and holds Gizmo from the 1984 film "Gremlins" in her arms, a reference to the other artboard. These artboards were created for the front and back of a c. 1994 t-shirt design by Ghetto Press. Scattered aging and wear. VF overall. From the Mark Arminski Archives and comes with a COA specially designed, signed and remarqued by him.
