Item numbers 1063 through 2753 in auction 213
Item Description
Lot of three, each is on 6.75x21" thin artboard w/India ink art in three or four panels. March 21, 1970 strip is four panels and features Donald Duck sweltering on desert island. He spies a box marked "Weirdo Hats, Inc." floating offshore and opens it, last panel showing him wearing wide-brimmed hat w/palm fronds sticking out of it, making adequate shade for Donald. April 4, 1970 strip is three panels and shows Donald on another desert island w/another box floating offshore. He opens it and last panel reveals a gas pump on the shore, a sign reading "Gas War" nailed to tree and an angry Donald facing the other way. April 25, 1970 strip is four panels and features Donald still trapped on island and yet another box arriving, marked "Ace Taxidermists." Last panel reveals Donald leaning against tree, which now has a stuffed moose head hung upon it. All have Walt Disney Productions ©1970 and King Features Syndicate paste-over strips. Applied screen tone shading accents have tanned in a few places as typical over the years. Art is VF/Exc.
