Item Description
Lot consists of 11 vintage photos (one 8x10" glossy bw and ten small 2-3/8x2.5" candid photos) of the 1935 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which took place Nov. 25, 1935. Lot also includes two 2x2" glass photo slides of the Parade. Large photo shows worker holding Charlotte Clark Mickey Mouse doll up for reference as he paints details on the head of the Mickey Mouse balloon, which was first introduced to the Parade in 1934. Some lt. edge wear but Exc. overall. Smaller photos feature three candid photos of the Mickey balloon as well as three candid photos of The Big Bad Wolf balloon, one candid photo of Practical Pig, two candid photos of American Indian and single candid photo of Thanksgiving Turkey. Each photo has blue ink handwritten caption/notation and date at top/bottom margins. Exc. One slide features The Big Bad Wolf balloon from c. 1935 while other features The Seven Dwarfs riding Parade float, pulling sleigh w/Santa Claus. c. 1937. Exc. An interesting group for this classic Holiday event.
