Item Description
13-5/8x20.5" artboard w/attached paper and onionskin overlays (top overlay marked "Art - Kit No. 1403 - Personnel Carrier") has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1975 Lindberg 1/40 Scale model kit No. 1403 featuring the Sd. Kfz. 7 (translated from the German word Sonderkraftfahrzeug - "special purpose vehicle"), a half-track military vehicle used by the German Wehrmacht Heer, Luftwaffe and Waffen-SS during World War II. The vehicle could carry gun crews of up to 12. There was storage room for various tools under the seats, and the whole vehicle was spacious enough to carry their kit. The vehicle's rear housed an enclosed compartment for ammunition storage. Art shows eight German soldiers riding in vehicle w/German officer seated in front passenger seat. Nazi flag flies from front of vehicle and hood is emblazoned w/German straight-armed Balkenkreuz marking. "Paris" road sign can be seen ahead of vehicle. Art is signed by John Steel. Image area measures 8.5x19.5". Bottom margin has printed label reading "Lindberg/3 Boxes #829150 8 Ton Semi-Track #1403 (2)" and production scale notation that could be easily matted out. Art is NM and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
