Item Description
11x17" thin DC Comics artboard has original pen and ink art for page two of April 1993 issue of Vertigo's "Sandman." Page features seven panels, and Dream is featured in four panels, including close-up of Dream's twinkling eye. Art features Dream having a glass of wine w/his brother Destruction and sister Delirium. Barnabus the dog is also present. Art was for "Brief Lives: Part 8" storyline written by Neil Gaiman w/art by Jill Thompson and inks by Vince Locke. Handwritten title at top along w/handwritten issue/page number in black ink. Additional editorial note at top left in red ink notes "They Are Lit By Candlelight - Panel 3 - Cheap White Wine" for colorist. Thompson has signed in silver paint pen at lower right. Word balloon paste-overs. Exc. Original "Sandman" comic book art rarely comes on the market, let alone a piece this nice.
