Item Description
11x17" thin DC Comics artboard has Steve Lieber and Luke McDonnell's original pen and ink art for Aug., 1994 issue of "Hawkman" #12 (third series). Art is for first page of "Godspawn: Part 4 - An Angel Chained in Hell" story by William Messner-Loebs and features splash page/single panel showing the Golden Age Hawkman (Carter Hall) attacking the then-current Hawkman (Katar Hol) w/large mace. Both are depicted w/o their helmets on. Art is complete w/letter captions by Albert De Guzman. Title paste-over at lower left w/blue pencil note adding Luke McDonnell's credit w/Lieber's. Top margin has handwritten title/issue number/date in marker and black ink. Margins have scattered editorial notes. Bottom center has been signed in red felt tip pen by Lieber. Exc.
