Collection of 60 stereoview cardboard cards, typically 3.5x7" to 4x7". Dates range from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. Publishers include - Webster & Albee (5), Mumper (10), W.H. Tipton (26) and 19 others from various publishers that include - Kilburn, Oriental Photograph Company, Keystone View Company, Popular Series, W.M. Chase and Tyson. Cards show various features and landscapes related to the July 1-3, 1863 Battle of Gettysburg, one of the most pivotal battles in the American Civil War. Highlights include - Devil's Den, Gettysburg Seminary, Grand Army of the Republic commemorative events, Gettysburg native John Burns (who took up arms and fought in the battle), various monuments including Soldier's National Monument, battlefield casualties and damage, Soldier's National Cemetery, The "Copse" Bloody Angle, Little Roundtop, Seminary Ridge, Culp's Hill, General Lee's Headquarters, Peach Orchard, the town of Gettysburg, Plum Run and much more. Each card is stiff cardboard w/matching pair of photos mounted side-by-side for use in stereoscope viewer. Cards have varying degrees of aging/wear and a few w/corners off or edge slivers off. Scattered handling wear and dust soiling. VG/Fine overall. An instant and extensive collection offering great insight into the aftermath of this important Civil War battle.
