Item Description
6.5" long folding spectacles in original wooden case. c. 1860s. Spectacles measure 5" folded, 8.5" unfolded and frames/spectacle rims are made of baleen. Glass lens closest to hinge shows wear where lens rubs against case. Fine/VF. Wooden case shows lt. wear and is VF. Comes w/5.25" wide pair of wire mesh artillery goggles w/green glass lenses. Used by cannoniers. Comes in original hinged oval-shaped metal box. Box shows aging/wear w/moderate loss of luster finish. Fine. Wire mesh has some lt. scattered oxidation but VF overall.
