Item Description
9.75" long leather "Dr. Woodbury's Cushion Sole Comfort Shoe" (as marked on bottom of shoe) woman's shoe w/"Comfort" heel and original tied laces has been filled w/plaster, a metal rod sign holder inserted into plaster for store display purposes. c. 1900-1910. Sign holder comes w/original hand-painted 2.5x4" card noting original purchase price of "$8.00". Price card has a few layers for added stiffness, and some of these have separated. White portion of price has crazing. Fine. Shoe itself and laces shows lt. aging/wear w/tiny nick to toe leather, but o/w plaster has nicely preserved this shoe for over 100 years. As a bonus, comes w/4" long tin litho "Shinola" shoe polish shoe horn featuring great graphics of polish tin and two brushes. Chas. W, Shoink Co. Litho. Images have 1907 date on them. Lightly aged but Exc. overall.
