Item Description
Pair of wooden and metal gunpowder flasks. Brass flask has nice ornamental design and spout features detailed measuring system that could change the amount of powder released via spring-loaded button at tip. Four different selections could be made as to how many drams were required. Marked James Dixon & Sons - Sheffield" by spout, indicating English-made. 1850s. All over aging w/patina to flask's brass body. VF. Wooden flask in the shape of a barrel (w/metal bands) dates to the American Civil War era. Aged w/wear from use. Loose particles within. Fine/VF.
