Complete set of eight 11x14" lobby cards for the original release of the 1949 Tarzan film starring Lex Barker in the title role w/Brenda Joyce as Jane. The film also features Albert Dekker and Evelyn Ankers, was co-written by Curt Siodmak and directed by Lee Sholem. Tarzan is depicted in art on title card as well as on six of the seven other cards, including great scenes of he and Jane w/chimpanzee, kissing and fighting eyepatch-wearing man. Cards show varying degrees of wear w/scattered dust soiling and handling wear. Title card has distributor imprint at lower right and three of the cards have return date stamp on reverse. Two other cards have elaborate and large hand-lettered text for another film on backs. This painted text does not show through onto fronts. Six cards have pinholes/staple holes at corners and/or around margins. Card showing Tarzan fighting man in leopard print outfit has sliver off bottom right corner. VG overall.
