Auction #213 - Part II
Item numbers 1063 through 2753 in auction 213
Item Description
7.5" tall tin litho toy w/built-in key. Marx, 1932. Toy depicts Popeye holding parrot cages in his hands w/large parrot inside. Complete w/small separate die-cut tin pipe. Toy works and moves forward when wound, Popeye's legs move separately as if he is walking, but one wooden guide wheel has some chipping and progress is a bit jerky. Side w/pipe has some moderate corner denting to cage corner. Wrists each have small 1/8" split, a common issue w/these toys. Scattered small paint nicks and Popeye's head has a few small indents, most of which blend. Fine overall.
