Item Description
8.5" long tin litho wind-up airplane w/8" wide wingspan and built-in key. Marx, 1930s. This is scarce earlier version (see later version, following item #2135). Complete w/tin litho Popeye pilot head w/die-cut tin litho pipe. "Popeye The Pilot" text on wings along w/"47" number on body of plane. Toy works and travels forwards/backwards in stop-and-go fashion. Scattered tiny paint nicks/scratches, w/rubs top edge of Popeye's hat. Toy is lightly aged but remains bright and glossy. VF.
