Item Description
8" tall tin litho wind-up w/built-in key. Marx, 1932. Toy depicts Popeye pushing wheelbarrow marked "Popeye Express." Popeye walks w/trunk in wheelbarrow. Separate tin litho parrot head sticks out of the top of the trunk. Nice detail to Popeye's striped pants, "Popeye" anchor tattoos, shirt w/pockets/buttons and cap. The trunk's luggage strap and padlock are lithographed, trunk top having destination labels reading "New York/Asia/Turkey/China." Complete and working but w/some issues. Scattered aging and dust soiling. Inside of one leg has .75" area of paint loss w/oxidation whereas other leg has .5" area. Left shoulder above key also has paint wear w/1" area of oxidation. Good.
