Item Description
20x24" overall. 15x19" image area. Under glass as framed in 1909. Issued to Alonzo B. Hyatt as postmaster at Linden in Genesee County Michigan. Dated June 26, 1909. Gold luster "Post Office Department" seal appears at lower left. "Wm H. Taft" 3.25" autograph appears at lower right. Ink notation "First Com. June 14th 1897" refers to Hyatt's service as postmaster. Two wood panels back the item with about .25" and 3/8" deep strips of paper at left and right sides showing at panel edge and frame edge. These two narrow paper strips are brittle and incomplete but over 96% of the paper has been protected by the framing. Scattered other aging not affecting signature. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
