Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 9.25" long by 4" tall assembled die-cut tin litho toy that depicts Barnacle Bill sea captain in rowboat. Made by Emmert-Hammes & Co. of Warren, MI. 1930s. Box shows moderate wear/aging w/1.75" tear at one end flap and one missing inner flap. Side panels have creasing. VG overall. Toy is designed to be rubber band-powered and has rudimentary crank at rowboat's bow that is to be connected to crank shaft via rubber band and cranked. When released, this turns shaft, which is connected to gear that makes oars go up and down, making Barnacle Bill row. Scattered lt. wear/aging. VF/Exc. Great design for use in water.
