Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 9-3/8" dia. tin litho toy w/built-in key and die-cut tin litho city skyline at center. Die-cut tin litho plane circles overhead when attached to center post. Marx, 1928. Box shows moderate wear/aging w/some tape repairs at one corner/end panel and moisture staining to other end. One inner flap is missing. VG. Train circles the outer ring of the base, going through three tunnels in buildings, one w/clock tower at top. Train is headed by steam locomotive and moves in conjunction w/plane. Central base image features lithography of late 1920s cars and people walking up stairs to central building w/"New York" name on roof and Louis Marx & Co. name on side of building. Toy works and shows lt. aging and scattered trace of wear, mainly to edges of raised tunnel towers. VF overall.
