Item Description
Dated “’42”. Sheet has 7.25x11” India ink image area w/superb full figure of Roussos holding “Royal Shield Of The Pencilers (sp)” in left hand and pencil in right hand w/sheets of art paper floating nearby and spilled ink bottle next to foot. Hand inked text refers to Roussos as formerly known as “Inky” and “So I, Mort Jr. , One Of His Innumerable Well Wishers, Wish Him Well !”. Sheet is lightly but evenly tanned, left margin has two binder holes, image area otherwise VF/Exc. Wonderful association piece from one Golden Age artist to another during the time they were Bob Kane’s assistants on “Batman”. From the Charlie Roberts Collection.
