Lot of three 3x7.75" to 3x8.25" mostly hand-written checks. Earliest is dated April 27, 1937 and made out to The Satyr Book Shop (one of Burroughs' favorite book sellers) for $3.61. Next check is dated May 31, 1939 and made out to Bertha Nabakowski for $35. Last check is stamp dated April 10, 1946 and made out to Franchise Tax Commissioner for $621.36. First check was made out in black ink, last two in blue. Checks each have "Edgar Rice Burroughs - Tarzana, California" address and have been boldly signed. Checks have typical cancellation holes and bank ink stamps. Reverse of each also bear cancellation stamps, book shop's stamp and Nabakowski's signature. Light handling wear, but VF appearance overall. Signatures remain bold and Exc. Would make a great display with a Burroughs photo or book cover. Comes with Hake's COA.
