Item Description
Pair of 3-5/8x8.25" Citizens National Trust & Savings Bank of Los Angeles, CA documents stapled together at left margin. Top sheet has stamped "75083" number at top and is dated March 19, 1936. Slip was issued for loan of $9,046.77 and notes loan was for 90 days. Front has typed "Burroughs' Tarzan Enterprises Inc." name and has been signed in black ink by company president and secretary. Reverse has been boldly signed twice in black ink by Tarzan creator Burroughs (signing full name), once as company president (signing "E.R. Burroughs"). Reverse also bears repeated signatures of company secretary and one other. Reverse also has numerous stamped/handwritten payment notations that continue onto second sheet. Top sheet has large "Citizens National Trust & Savings Bank - Paid" ink stamp and "Burroughs Tarzan Enterprises, Inc." imprinted stamp/seal. This promissory note is from around the time of the making of 1936's "Tarzan Escapes" film starring Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan. Sheets have lt. even aging and are VF overall. Comes with Hake's COA.
