Pair related to Edgar Rice Burroughs' fifth book in his Tarzan series, first published by A.C. McClurg & Co. in 1918. Offered here is 3.25x5-3/16" promotional postcard featuring art by noted Tarzan illustrator J. Allen St. John. This same art appeared on McClurg's first edition cover. Tarzan fans would write the publisher requesting information about future novels and these cards were sent out to promote upcoming books. This postcard features brief story synopsis on reverse. Card is unmarked and not postmarked. Exc. Rare. Comes w/vintage 1920s 8x10" photo of J. Allen St. John w/"Tarzan And The Golden Lion" cover painting. Corner tip wear but would look Exc. framed.
